Komádi is a small town in the north of the Great Hungarian Plain. The town has approximately 6,000 inhabitants and is about 1,200 kilometers from Fulda and only 230 kilometers from Budapest. Here we found the ideal geographical conditions for operating two small sturgeon farms.
Komádi is known in the region for its traditional "Komádi embroidery." One example of this is the "crab pattern," which reflects an old local tradition. Perhaps one day the sturgeon will also be incorporated into the Komádi tradition.
Like the parent farm in Fulda, this aquaculture facility is fed with well water, which, after passing through our tanks, we release back into the local river.
The Hungarian Oscietra is certainly the creamiest of the three Oscietra varieties that we are allowed to produce ourselves.
